The Magic Valley Symphony is a full orchestra of volunteer musicians from South Central Idaho, based in Twin Falls. We are led by Theodore Anchor Hadley, Music Director/Conductor.

We produce live performances of symphonic music: four concerts per year, including a spring Pops concert. We also present educational opportunities for local student and adult musicians.

... Fine Music for You from your Friends and Neighbors...

A Message From The Maestro...

Good music, like good fences, makes good neighbors. Music is a way of bringing people together: as Paul Hindemith expresses, “People who make music together cannot be enemies, at least while the music lasts.” On the other hand, sometimes a neighbor’s very loud musical preferences may precipitate an angry confrontation...

For our 2008-2009 Concert Season, we feature some of our favorite neighbors on stage with us. Our first concert will feature Youth Soloists from our Magic Valley area, kids who have grown up among us and who are on their way to musical maturity, mastering some very flashy and wonderful music which they are eager to share with you. Emily, Brian and Andrew will wow you with their performances.

Born and raised in Jerome, Rebecca Prescott takes time from her busy professional singing career in Chicago to present a program of favorite light classical and music theater favorites; you will be impressed and delighted by her performance. At the same concert, held on Veterans Day 2008, we will salute our friends and neighbors who have served in the military, featuring a special musical salute to veterans and some wonderful music by American composers.

The Basque people have contributed much to the past and present of our beloved Idaho. For our February 2009 concert, we have invited Basque Conductor José Luis Eguiluz to lead us in a program of music from his native Spain. And he really is a neighbor, too, having relatives living in The Magic Valley!

Our 2009 Pops Concert will be a gala performance of Mendelssohn’s mighty oratorio “Elijah” with guest performers The Magic Valley Chorale under the leadership of their director Joseph Casperson. This will be a maximum neighborly collaboration, with some enjoyable surprises along the way.

Each concert will also feature art displays by our Magic Valley friends and neighbors, and we will be encouraging the musical advancement of our neighbors’ daughters and sons through the programs of the MV Symphony League’s Carma’s Kids program.

John Denver said, “Music does bring people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit.” Lovers of music around the world can be neighbors in spirit through the miracle of music. Enjoy our musical offerings to you, our neighbors!
