Youth Soloist Competition

The Magic Valley Symphony highlights outstanding musicians in a concerto competition for young artists held in even-numbered years.

 Contestants audition in June with a 6- to 10-minute standard repertoire
piece with published orchestral accompaniment.  Winners receive a
generous scholarship and may be invited to perform with the Symphony at the October concert.

Based upon auditions held in June of 2010 three winners were selected
from 17 contestants.  All three repeated their winning performances with
the Symphony on Sunday, October 10, 2010.

The 2010 competition was a great success. 

Auditions for the 2012 Youth Soloist Competition will be held June 9 at Canyon Ridge High School. Applications can be submitted until May 11.
